Field Trips
We are open for field trips again this 2024 Season!
Like any other year, we do only accept ONE school per day! We require a minimum of 75 students, and can accept up to 200 students from each school per day.
We strongly encourage the opportunity for students and teachers to continue learning in an outdoor classroom setting!

Learning & Fun on the Farm!
Education has always been a highlight at the Thamesville Maize.
Students have the opportunity to learn all about pumpkins; the origins, varieties and uses. Think pumpkin pie, and roasted seeds! They will appreciate the rich variety of sizes, colours, the feel the weight of them, see and feel the stringy pulp and taste of the pumpkin seeds. Each field trip will give students an opportunity to travel by wagon to the Pumpkin Patch to choose a pumpkin of their own. The pumpkin patch will be available in late September and throughout October.
Primary / JK & SK Field Trips
A great opportunity to get the young ones outdoors!
Students will have an opportunity to play on the farm yard; playing games, jumping on the jumbo jumpers, experiencing the feel of corn kernels in the corn barn, practice agility on some low ropes and much more. Students will have an opportunity to learn about pumpkins; how pumpkins grow, view different varieties of pumpkins as well as peek inside a pumpkin.
Each student will have an opportunity to travel by wagon to the pumpkin patch to pick a pumpkin to return to school with.
All students will have an opportunity to travel a small corn maze with a small group working together to determine which paths to travel to find the exit, the small corn maze also features an activity to do that will earn them a prize once it is completed.
Lunch
We strongly encourage that all students bring packed lunches!
While our concession stand is open on field trip days, we do not have our hot food available, just our packaged snacks and drinks.
Numerous picnic areas / pavilions are available for students to enjoy their packed lunches.
Pricing
The cost per student is $9.00 ($7.96 + HST)
Teachers are admitted for free
We do require chaperones to accompany and supervise all school groups in the maze. We recommend one adult for every five students for the best experience.
We will admit free one chaperone for every five children. Each additional chaperone will be charged $9.00 ($7.96 + HST).
